The Rakahuri Rage is a 6-hour team mountainbiking event held at the Ashley River, Rangiora, during March.
You’ll compete in teams of 2-4 riders over a 7km course using established and new tracks.
The race is open to all riders over 12 years old, with a variety of team categories available to enter...

MainPower North Canterbury Sports Awards
Youth Sports Scholarships

These prestigious annual awards bring together hundreds of people from a variety of sporting backgrounds to celebrate the achievements of the regions best athletes, teams, administrators, coaches and events.

The MainPower North Canterbury Sports Awards were instigated in 2002, and since that time they have helped identify and support a number of emerging athletes

Running alongside the Sports Awards is the MainPower Youth Sport Scholarship Programme, which provides financial assistance to 10 of our up and coming sports stars each year to assist them in developing their competitive performance.

Based on the popular reality TV series, this annual event has been run by the Trust since 2007, with two teams of 6 contestants striving to lose the most weight in 12 weeks.  Participants receive 12 weeks free gym membership to the McAlpines Mitre10 Mega Sports Centre, personal training, dietary advice, medical advice and sponsored clothing throughout the event which promotes healthy habits and a healthy lifestyle.
